Several abuses proliferate social media, such as offensive messaging practices, fraudulent accounts and spamming. Facebook has several security protocols in place to combat abuse and protect its over 800 million users, and it employs an easy-to-use complaint-filing system that requires only minimal steps to report inappropriate content. A user can lodge a complaint regarding all aspects of the site’s user-generated content, including groups, event pages and photos. Immediate removal of the offending item isn’t really immediate, however, and all complaints are reviewed to determine an effective course of action.
