4 Things to Know About Disney Wonder Cruise Ships

If you are planning to take a trip on a Disney Wonder cruise ship, follow tips from people who have previously vacationed on one of these ships. After having previously experienced time on a Disney Wonder ship, many people are willing to share helpful information ways to save money and avoid lines, which can make your trip more enjoyable.
  1. Booking

    • Book a standard stateroom on the ship for the lowest price you can find, as early as you can. Depending upon how much the Disney Wonder fills up, you may receive an automatic upgrade to a better room. People who book their rooms early typically receive upgrades before those who made their reservations later. If you don't receive an automatic upgrade, ask for one at check-in. If there are empty rooms left, they are sometimes willing to upgrade you for a small fee. This fee is usually much less than you would've paid had you reserved the upgraded room at first.

    Room Service

    • Although many people avoid room service in hotels, because of the high costs associated with it, this is free on the Disney Wonder, so remember to use it. You will be charged extra for drinks such as bottled water and soda, but milk, juice, coffee and tea are included in the cost of your cruise ticket.

    Character Visits

    • One of the most popular attractions on the cruise is the costumed Disney characters. In order to avoid the lines for your children to visit with them and take pictures, the best time to go is during dinner. Take a trip to the atrium after the first course of dinner has been served, as there won't be much of a crowd there then.

    Bring Your Own

    • Pack a soft-sided cooler in with your luggage. You can use this to take snacks and drinks to the pool with you and if you go on any shore excursions. Bottled water is expensive on the cruise ship, so it's a good idea to just bring your own. Pack an entire case, or however much you think your family will drink while on the ship, and place it in a spare suitcase. By the end of the trip, this suitcase will probably be empty, so you can use it to carry home any souvenirs that you purchased.
