LO Bosworth Weight Loss Diet Guidelines

Reality TV star Lauren "Lo" Bosworth employs a common sense approach to staying thin: healthy diet and exercise. Bosworth, formerly of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," is also an author. Her first book entitled "The Lo-Down" was released in January 2011. It offers advice on dating and stories from her time starring in reality shows. Bosworth credits her TV-worthy looks to healthy eating and workouts, which include spinning, kettlebells, yoga, running and boxing.
Biography
Originally known simply as the best friend of TV star Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth has managed to become a celebrity in her own right. As a former reality TV personality turned household name, Lauren Ogilvie Bosworth, is constantly in the public eye. The 25-year-old graduate of the University of California Los Angeles has launched her own website, lodown.com, offering lifestyle and dating advice. Diet and exercise are important to Bosworth to keep her looking camera-ready and to be a role model for her fans.
Diet Guidelines
Lo Bosworth follows diet guidelines, not a regimented list of rules that comprime most dieting programs. Bosworth gets diet tips from another reality TV star, Bethenny Frankel of “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Frankel's book "The Skinnygirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life," inspires Bosworth. The cookbook is a spin-off of Frankel's best-seller, "Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting." "The Skinnygirl Dish" contains easy recipes using ingredients commonly found in most people's kitchens and suggests ways to eat healthy without depriving yourself.
Choices
Bosworth's diet often calls for substituting unhealthy options, like French fries, for healthier foods. A tip Frankel gives in her books is to choose smaller portions of unhealthy foods that you really love instead of always eating the healthy version. An example is to choose steak instead of plain chicken breast if the difference in appeal is significant. However, choose the healthier option if you think it tastes as good or almost as good as the unhealthy version: Eat veggie chili instead of beef chili. This advice fits well into Bosworth's lifestyle because she does not like strict programs.
Sample Menu
A typical day for Bosworth includes three meals, a snack and dessert. Breakfast may be whole-grain blueberry pancakes or scrambled egg whites with whole grain toast. Lunch may include salad with chicken or fish and vegetables. Sweet and salty popcorn is a typical snack. Tacos made with ground turkey, reduced-fat cheese and sour cream made the "Skinnygirl" way with Greek yogurt and lemon juice is a common dinner choice with cheesecake for dessert. Alcohol is allowed, though Bosworth says she refrains from high-calorie food and drink like beer and pizza.
